Lanced is the audition platform for ballet, dance and theatre companies — built to help artistic teams run professional auditions without the inbox chaos.
We surveyed 200+ dancers about the audition experience: from the moment they read your call, to the application, to the day in the studio, to the moments after a rejection lands in their inbox.
We wanted to understand where the friction is, where the costs (financial, mental, artistic) pile up, and where there are opportunities for companies to design an experience that's better for both sides.
We then held a webinar with artistic teams to discuss the findings openly — this checklist is the result of those conversations.
